“Mozart in Paris”
Show guest artist bio
  • where: Dell Hall directions
  • conductor: Peter Bay

Grab that special someone and your passport because the ASO is taking you on a musical journey with a Paris connection. The ASO will open the evening with Francis Poulenc’s Suite from Les biches (The Does). This piece is from a ballet choreographed by Bronislava Nijinskaand. The ASO will also perform Poulenc’s Concert champêtre for Harpsichord and Orchestra and Wolfgang Amadé Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 15, both performed by local favorite Anton Nel. The evening will conclude with Mozart’s beloved Symphony No. 31 titled Paris. This piece was composed when Mozart was 22 years of age and looking for work in Paris. Many consider this to be one of his most popular symphonies.

Still want more? How about playing on some string instruments provided by our friends at Violins Etc.? We also have a wonderful pre-concert talk given by Bob Buckalew at 7:10 pm. How about “tweeting” with our musicians and ASO staff? Take a photo in front of our photo wall. The Austin Symphony has “Something for Everyone.”
